All genealogy projects have a root. Strangely enough, that root lies not in the distant past that we strive to discover, but in the present and in the future. You can think of each family group as a cell. The progression of cells, as traced through the past and into the present, would, at least initially, form a "V" with the genealogical "root" at the base. This root will be a particular person or set of siblings.
Of course, genealogical research is dynamic; the root focus is soon more difficult to discern as aunts, uncles and cousins are filled in. Still, its purpose remains: to give our descendants a point of reference for who they are and what course of history cumulated in their existence.
On this site, you will find chronicled some of the people that lead, unknown to them, to our present. They were not, however, just names; they were people with loves and hates, passions, conflicts and challenges - just like you and me! Part of the overall goal of this site is to bring those names to life, to fill in the details that change a name on a page into a person.
You will find that some lineages dead end. It is simply not feasible to trace all branches or family lines. If, however, one of these dead ended lines happens to be yours and you wish to see it expanded, we will consider opening it for you.
